Dennis Whittin

Dennis M. Whittin April 6, 2010 Dennis M. Whittin, 64, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Crouse Hospital with his loving family at his side after a long and courageous battle. He was born on November 8, 1945, in Oneida, the son of Richard and Madge Dennison Whittin. He was a graduate of Oneida High School. He was a graduate of Simmons Institute of Mortuary Science, class of 1966, and went onto receive his associate's degree in accounting and business administration from SUNY Morrisville. On November 5, 1977, Dennis was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Bleskoski in Assumption Church in Syracuse. Dennis worked as a branch manager for several local companies and was a licensed New York State funeral director serving in Camden, Oneida, and Syracuse areas. Mr. Whittin was a member of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale. Dennis was a member and treasurer of the Onondaga-Oswego Funeral Directors Association where he also served on the Board of Directors. Surviving besides his loving wife of 32 years, Ruth Ann; are a daughter, Keli Whittin, and her fiance, Don Trendowski of Syracuse; a son, Sean Whittin of Rome; and several nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by a brother, Mark R. Whittin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the Carter Funeral Home, Inc., 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse, at 10:45 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church at 11:30 a.m. where the Rev. Cleophas Tuka will officiate. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4 to 7p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Dennis's memory to Enable, 1603 Court St., Syracuse, NY 13208. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Denny was Bobo when we paled around in 9th grade.  He was a really good guy and friend.  I saw him at our 40th Reunion and he was still a good guy and good friend.  May he rest in peace.

How shocked and sadden I am to learn of Dennis's passing way too soon. Dennis was

quick witted and always had a wonderful sense of humor. Thanks for making me smile
