Dear Classmates,

I just talked with Dick Herlehy who passed along that his cousin and classmate Patty (Mary Brooks) Whittaker passed away today.  Although Patty had been dealing with lung issues her passing was quite sudden. We will pass along her obituary information as soon as it is available.

Mary's obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Mrs. Mary P. Whittaker of Winter Springs, FL on August 06, 2022.

Mary was born on November 16, 1945, to Deloyd Raynord Brooks and Mary Frances McCarthy of Oneida, New York. She moved to Orlando in 1975.

After graduating from Marywood College, Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1967, with a B.S. in Elementary Education, Mary taught in the Oneida, New York School System. Following her move to Orlando she taught in Central Florida schools until her retirement in 2010.

Mrs. Whittaker is survived by her spouse John N. Whittaker and son Daniel J. Dowling. Two other individuals, Christopher Scott Whittaker, and Brooke E. Whittaker, and four grandchildren by marriage.

Mary requested no services be held and that her ashes be spread. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Cancer Society in her name.
